Gemini API pricing: Flash rates double from 1 January 2027
Google's Gemini Developer API pricing page now lists introductory rates that expire at the end of 2026. Gemini 3.8 Flash, 3.7 Flash and 3.6 Flash all sit at $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens until 31 December 2026, then move to $1.50 and $7.50 from 1 January 2027. The same doubling applies across Batch, Flex and Priority tiers, and to context caching, where storage goes from $0.50 to $1.00 per million tokens per hour.
What it means for a SaaS brand
Grounding with Google Search is metered separately: 5,000 free requests a month shared across all Gemini 3.x models, then $14 per 1,000 requests. If you run grounded retrieval checks to monitor how Gemini answers questions about your category, budget for that cap now and plan for token costs to double in January 2027.
