Gemini API pricing doubles across Flash tiers from 1 January 2027
Google's Gemini Developer API pricing page now lists two-stage rates for Gemini 3.8 Flash, 3.7 Flash and 3.6 Flash. Standard paid input runs at $0.75 per million tokens until 31 December 2026, then $1.50, with output rising from $3.75 to $7.50. Batch and Flex tiers sit at half the standard rate, priority at roughly double, and all follow the same doubling on 1 January 2027. Google Search and Google Maps grounding stay at 5,000 free requests a month shared across Gemini 3.x models, then $14 per 1,000.
What it means for a SaaS brand
If you run retrieval or content pipelines on Gemini Flash, your unit costs double at the start of 2027, so model that into next year's budget now and check whether Batch or Flex can carry the non-urgent work at half the standard rate. The 5,000 free grounded search requests a month are shared across all Gemini 3.x models, so brand visibility testing and production grounding draw from the same pool.
