Gemini API pricing: Flash rates double from 1 January 2027
Google's Gemini API pricing page now lists promotional rates for Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.7 Flash that run until 31 December 2026, then double. Standard Gemini 3.8 Flash input goes from $0.75 to $1.50 per million tokens, and output, including thinking tokens, from $3.75 to $7.50, with Batch, Flex and Priority tiers scaling the same way. Grounding with Google Search and Google Maps stays at 5,000 free requests a month shared across Gemini 3.x models, then $14 per 1,000 requests.
What it means for a SaaS brand
If your AI search monitoring, content generation or agent workflows run on Gemini Flash, budget for a doubling of token costs in 2027 and model it now rather than at renewal. Grounding with Google Search is billed separately once you pass 5,000 requests a month, so high volume visibility tracking needs its own line in the forecast.
