Gemini 3.8 Flash pricing doubles from 1 January 2027
Google's Gemini API pricing page lists Gemini 3.8 Flash at an introductory rate that doubles at the start of 2027. Standard paid input moves from 0.75 USD to 1.50 USD per million tokens, and output, including thinking tokens, moves from 3.75 USD to 7.50 USD. Batch, flex and priority tiers all double on the same schedule, as does context caching and storage. Grounding with Google Search and Google Maps each include 5,000 free requests a month shared across Gemini 3.x models, then 14 USD per 1,000 requests.
What it means for a SaaS brand
If your AI search monitoring or content generation runs on Gemini 3.8 Flash, budget for a doubling of unit costs from 1 January 2027, and note that grounded Google Search calls bill separately once you pass 5,000 a month. Batch processing at half the standard rate is the obvious lever for non-urgent visibility tracking work.
