Gemini 3.8 Flash and 3.7 Flash pricing doubles from 1 January 2027
Google's Gemini Developer API pricing page now lists promotional rates for Gemini 3.8 Flash and Gemini 3.7 Flash that expire at the end of 2026. Standard input moves from $0.75 to $1.50 per million tokens and output, including thinking tokens, from $3.75 to $7.50 from 1 January 2027, with batch, priority and context caching rates doubling on the same schedule. Grounding with Google Search and Google Maps stays at 5,000 free requests a month shared across Gemini 3.x models, then $14 per 1,000 requests.
What it means for a SaaS brand
If your AI search monitoring or content pipelines run on Gemini 3.x Flash, your per-query cost doubles at the start of 2027, so budget now and move bulk work such as crawling, summarising and answer-tracking into the Batch API, which runs at half the standard rate. Grounded queries are the real cost driver at $14 per 1,000 beyond the free 5,000, so cap how often you re-check the same prompts.
