Gemini 3.8 Flash lands with promotional API pricing until 2027
Google's Gemini API pricing page now lists Gemini 3.8 Flash, described as its most intelligent Flash model for long-running software engineering, autonomous agents and complex enterprise workflows. Standard paid tier pricing is $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens including thinking tokens until 31 December 2026, then doubles to $1.50 and $7.50 from 1 January 2027. The same doubling applies across Batch, Flex and Priority tiers, with Gemini 3.7 Flash carrying identical standard rates.
What it means for a SaaS brand
Grounding with Google Search is priced at 5,000 free requests per month across all Gemini 3.x models, then $14 per 1,000 requests, so the cost of answering a query about your brand with live search is now a known line item. If you run AI-search monitoring or internal answer-engine tooling on Gemini, budget for the 1 January 2027 doubling now rather than renegotiating later.
