Claude API pricing adds Fable 5.1 tier and cheaper Opus 5.5
Anthropic's pricing page now lists Claude Fable 5.1 at $10/MTok input and $50/MTok output, sitting above Claude Opus 5.5 at $4/MTok input and $20/MTok output. Opus 5.5 undercuts the older Opus 5 line, which held at $5/MTok input and $25/MTok output, while Sonnet 5.5 stays at $2/MTok input and $10/MTok output. Haiku 5.5 is now tiered by prompt length, charging $0.10/MTok input up to 100,000 tokens and $0.50/MTok above that.
What it means for a SaaS brand
Bulk AI-visibility work such as prompt sweeps, citation checks and SERP classification gets materially cheaper on Haiku 5.5 if you keep prompts under 100,000 tokens, so split large crawls into smaller batches rather than stuffing context. Note that Claude 4.7 and later models use a tokenizer producing roughly 30% more tokens for the same text, so rerun your cost estimates before assuming a per-token price cut is a real saving.
