Technical SEO Manager

Open 12-month contract
Remote (UK)Search & Content

The Role

We're looking for a Technical SEO Manager to own technical strategy across a portfolio of SaaS client websites. This is a 12-month contract role. SaaS experience is strongly preferred: you'll be working with complex SaaS marketing sites, product pages, and documentation portals built on enterprise CMS platforms. You must be deeply fluent in how modern search engines and LLMs crawl, index, and interpret web content, and be capable of diagnosing and solving the full spectrum of technical SEO challenges at scale.

What You'll Do

  • Conduct deep technical SEO audits across client websites, prioritising critical issues by impact
  • Own Core Web Vitals and performance standards, briefing client developers and reviewing their implementation
  • Direct crawl budget, indexation strategy and log file analysis for large-scale sites
  • Specify and audit structured data / schema markup (JSON-LD) for client developers to implement
  • Diagnose JavaScript SEO issues on React, Next.js and SPA-based websites, and specify the fixes for client engineers
  • Set the standards for LLM and AI crawler accessibility — semantically clear, entity-rich, well-structured content for GPTBot, ClaudeBot and PerplexityBot — and review against them
  • Work with engineering and CMS teams to implement SEO requirements across enterprise CMS platforms
  • Audit and advise on hreflang, international SEO, and multi-region site architectures
  • Build technical SEO roadmaps and present findings to client developers and engineering leads
  • Maintain internal documentation on technical SEO standards and best practices

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years in a technical SEO role, including ownership of technical strategy across multiple sites. SaaS or enterprise website experience strongly preferred
  • Expert-level website performance knowledge: Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP), Lighthouse optimisation, and server-side rendering considerations
  • Deep familiarity with how LLMs and AI crawlers (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot) access and interpret web content. This is essential
  • Experience working across multiple enterprise CMS platforms: WordPress, Contentful, Webflow, HubSpot CMS, Drupal, or Sitecore
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript SEO: rendering, lazy loading, dynamic routing, and SPA frameworks (React, Next.js)
  • Proficient with log file analysis, crawl management, and diagnosing large-scale indexation issues
  • Hands-on experience implementing and auditing structured data (JSON-LD) at scale
  • Comfortable communicating technical requirements to engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Python or scripting for SEO automation (log parsing, custom Screaming Frog extraction)
  • Familiarity with GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) strategies and AI search visibility techniques
  • Prior experience with international / multilingual site architectures at scale
  • Google Cloud or AWS familiarity for site speed and infrastructure-level SEO
